Family and compartment count
LX-M is intended for matching Märklin coaches of 28.2 cm length, and LX-R for matching Roco coaches of 303 mm length. Variants have 10, 11 or 12 compartments. Compare windows, toilets, corridor and the actual interior; coach length alone is not enough to establish compatibility.

Two brightness zones
R40 adjusts the compartment LEDs. R38 adjusts corridor lighting independently. Turn both gently and keep within their mechanical stops. The potentiometer versions offered here do not provide CV-programmable brightness; digital operation refers to supply from a digital railway.
Supply and dimensions
The shared manual specifies constant brightness from 5 V AC/DC, a maximum of 25 V AC/DC and average current below 45 mA. Connect track power at IN; one input is sufficient. Product information gives 260 × 17.8 mm for LX-M and 285 × 22.7 mm for LX-R. The older shared sheet contains a different generic dimension. Use the specific product dimensions and measure your board when checking fit.
Mounting and additions
Secure the board without pressing on components and insulate conductive coach surfaces. The drawing marks C-EXT for an external capacitor. Do not transfer LX-U cut points or contact numbers to these coach-specific boards. Questions about adding decoder control or extra loads must identify the exact board and decoder.
